The Robbie Burns Express
Friday 2nd May 2014
Join us on a trip to scenic Burns Country direct from your local Mid Cheshire Line railway station to Kilmarnock, Dumfries and Ayr.
Note the change in date from Saturday 3rd May because of engineering works on the West Coast Main Line.
The train will pick up at Hooton, Chester, Mouldsworth, Cuddington, Greenbank, Northwich, Plumley, Knutsford, Mobberley, Hale, Altrincham and then Stockport, Manchester Victoria, Bolton, Chorley and Preston.
The excursion takes the West Coast Main Line, “turns left” at Gretna Green and skirts the Solway coast to Dumfries.
We then travel up Nithsdale to Kilmarnock and finally head west to the seaside town of Ayr, home of the Burns National Heritage Park and Museum.
There is also a Burns Centre and house in Dumfries and the Burns Monument Centre in Kilmarnock.
The excursion is being run in association with Compass Tours who will be administering the bookings and whose terms and conditions will apply.
