Now a second train is on the timetable

The North Eastern Express was pleased to feature in the Manchester Evening News.
The feature read .....
"A ‘ghost station’ which has had just one weekly train for the past two decades is to get a one-off visit.
Since 1991, the only service calling at Reddish South station has been the one-way 9.26am Friday service from Stockport to Stalybridge.
Now another passenger train will make a visit – sparking hopes the station could be revived.
The North Eastern Express will stop at the station in May on its way to Darlington, Durham and Newcastle from Chester. The arrival has been agreed after lobbying by the Friends of Reddish South Station group, who are hailing it as a major coup." ....
