Our final destination on the North Eastern Express is Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Here you will find so much to see … including the bridges, the Sage, the Tyne & Wear Metro - with Newcastle’s very own tram/train out to Sunderland on National Rail.
It is a vibrant city dominated by the six bridges spanning the River Tyne.
From the High Level road and railway bridge designed by Robert Stephenson to the latest Millennium Bridge linking Gateshead with Newcastle.
Highlights of the City include many historical buildings and three major shopping centres.
The recently redeveloped Quayside overlooked by the Sage Gateshead and the Baltic Centre offers much to explore.
